Scholarships

Scholarship applications for the 2013-2014 academic year are no longer being accepted. Deadline for submission was January 27, 2013.

Scholarships are awarded annually (during the Spring semester for the following academic year) to HRM students on the basis of all or a combination of the following: academic achievement, extracurricular activities, financial need, major. Various donors have provided scholarships for students in HRM. In the 2012-2013 academic year, 69 students received scholarships totaling over $80,000.

Guidelines

Scholarships are for the 2013-2014 academic year. If you are graduating in Spring or Summer 2013, please do not apply (December 2013 graduates may apply).

The Scholarship Committee will consider applications only from those students who comply with all of the following basic criteria:
    * be a student in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management
    * have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 (preference will be given to students with a grade point average of 3.0 or better)

The committee will match applicants with the scholarship(s) for which they are most qualified (according to the specific criteria of each scholarship) and make decisions in light of the total information available.

The application process begins in November for the following academic year.

Paper applications are available from the Franke College of Business Dean's Office (FCB Room 214) for those students who are unable to utilize the web application due to disability.

Students who are awarded a scholarship are required to attend the Scholars & Donors Luncheon from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2013.
