Treated Like Royalty: Bliss Brings Students to the Princess
The trip highlighted the luxurious resort and allowed Princess to recruit students to join them during the winter break for its annual Christmas at the Princess celebration. Members at all levels within the Princess organization boasted the high quality of NAU graduates, and introduced the students to several HRM alumni currently enjoying careers at the Princess.
Bliss said the students had a great opportunity to learn about the company, and see the inner workings of a resort they might not had the opportunity to see if not for the SHRM trip. “This is a great opportunity for students to branch out and expose themselves to different parts of the industry,” shared Bliss.
Students enjoyed lunch at the hotel and received helpful advice for their future endeavors. Princess executives shared the importance of going to career fairs starting freshman year to make connections with key industry contacts in organizations in which they may hope to work in the future.
The advice and exposure students received during the trip is what SHRM aims to provide for students throughout their educational career at NAU. These efforts have helped to produce impeccable graduates with a strong showing in the hospitality world.
