The NAU chapter of the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality NSMH traveled to a Regional Conference that took place in Las Vegas from Friday, October 16, to Sunday, October 18, 2015.

Chapters from the West and Midwest attended the Regional Conference. Faculty Advisor Kathleen King was able to take 25 students to attend this event.

NSMH members had the opportunity to meet with employers and representatives. They were able to receive feedback on resumes, and they also practiced video interviews.

“[I was] really happy there were a lot of attendees. It was a great conference and the students found the activities very helpful,” said King.

Not only was it a bonding experience for the club members, but it was also a professional growth experience. This event helped them learn about the many different and unique opportunities that are available through NSMH.

“I definitely found the conference helpful; I learned a lot about what to expect from the industry after I graduate; more interview and resume skills; as well as how to make an impact in this industry,” said NSMH member Emily Thompson.
