As a part of the 30th Anniversary Celebration, Dr. Wanda Costen, School of Hotel and Restaurant Management (SHRM) executive director, invited alumni in northern Arizona to the first Learn While You Network event. The event was generously hosted by the DoubleTree by Hilton in Flagstaff. SHRM Professor Bruce Urdang presented information on the upcoming changes to the Fair Standards Labor Act. Professor Urdang explained what was changing and possible effects this could have on businesses around the country.

As the first event of its kind for SHRM, it was a success in gathering our alumni from varied years. “Our goal during this special 30th Anniversary year is to invite as many alumni to connect and learn something that may be beneficial to them in their current work. We want to take the opportunity to share more about what is happening at NAU and in SHRM at the same time,” said Karen Staley, director of Development. “SHRM looks to host several more of these events throughout the next year across Arizona to connect with as many of our alumni as possible.”
