Celebrating the Release of the Scotch Ale
Students from the Northern Arizona Craft Beer Association (NACBA, aka Beer Club) released a Scotch Ale on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 6:30 PM at the McMillan Brewery on Route 66 in Flagstaff. They brewed it in collaboration with Mother Road Brewing Company.
The event was a success. “I think every event gets better. I was really happy to see that a lot of faculty members attended the event,” said Blake Walter, NACBA president.
Jordan Gregory, head of Non-Alcoholic Beverages Production at the brewery, created a skeet ball tournament and Mother Road donated prizes for the winners including T-shirts, Mother Road tin tacker, a growler, and growler fill.
People seemed to be very pleased with the beer. It was brewed lower on the IBU’s, around 30 with an alcohol content of 10%, which is a little high but also typical for this style of beer. The event was full of excitement and satisfied customers.
The members of NACBA enjoyed the experience. “The event was fantastic. Being together with people who enjoy craft beer like myself is great, and getting to release our work was even better,” concluded beer club member, Josh Estensen.
