Bieranowski Receives Tourism Cares’ 2014 ASTA Arizona Scholarship
In May 2014, Rebecca Bieranowski was chosen by Tourism Cares to receive the 2014 ASTA Arizona Scholarship in the amount of $2,000. She was selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants as an exemplary representative of the future of the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries.
As a part of her scholarship and workforce development, Rebecca was also invited to participate in the Tourism Cares Student Mentoring Program at the NTA/UMA Travel Exchange, to be held January 2015 in New Orleans, Louisiana. This program offers the unique opportunity to experience a travel, tourism, and hospitality conference firsthand and to be mentored by professional tour operators, tour suppliers, and destination marketing executives. The program allows participants to learn more about the career opportunities open to them in these industries as well as build their professional network. This is accomplished through shadowing industry mentors during their business appointments. These mentors make introductions as well as providing insight into the industry. Additionally, students participate in informational sessions and panel discussions with travel and tourism industry professionals to further their education.
Congratulations to Rebecca for this outstanding recognition!
