Dennis Vollink is a 1974 distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering taking coursework that focused on Electrical, Aeronautical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering.

Immediately after graduation Dennis went to Laughlin Air Force Base and completed USAF undergraduate pilot training and was selected as Outstanding Pilot and Distinguished Graduate in his class.  Dennis also attended Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas where he completed coursework towards a Masters in Physics/ Solar Engineering.

Since 1981 Dennis has served as Mechanical and Civil Engineer, Pilot, and President of Drury Southwest, Inc. Drury Southwest, Inc. is a Cape Girardeau, Missouri-based development and construction company that owns over 60 Drury branded hotels throughout the United States in addition to office space, lease properties, shopping centers, warehouses, and an outdoor advertising company. Dennis is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company by working with the Board and other management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.

Drury Hotels has won JD Powers for 11 years in a row – high end limited service segment:

Over the past 30 years Dennis has participated in planning more than 60 hotels and other sites; prepared storm water management plans; designs HVAC systems, plumbing and other sewer systems. He was also the head of construction inspection and management.

Dennis is a civil and mechanical engineer licensed in 12 states and is also a LEED AP. He is a pilot with over 8,000 hours of military and corporate jet flying time and is retired from the Air Force Reserve with 24 years of service. Dennis is married to his wife Kathy of 40 years. Together they have 3 children Tim, Matt (Laura), and Mary Beth and three grandchildren Connor, Anna, and Leo.
