Assistant Professor of Practice, NAU/Pima Community College Partnership Program
Armando Trujillo directs the Hotel & Restaurant Management program for Pima Community College as well as the Northern Arizona University program in Tucson. In addition, to directing each academic program he also writes curriculum for new courses and programs for the college.
Armando is a member of several local and national associations that represent the industry. He is a board member of the SALARA, the Southern Arizona Lodging and Resort Association, and a member of the Arizona Restaurant Association. As the academic representative for Pima College and Northern Arizona University he supports the community by assisting organizations with consulting requests and by developing hospitality management training presentations for businesses.
Armando is a graduate of the University of Arizona. He worked in the restaurant industry managing several chain and independent operations. He entered the academic field as a teacher of English, history, and ESL for Tucson Unified School District. He also taught teachers pursuing their master’s degree in Bilingual and Multicultural Education for Northern Arizona University. Armando’s final assignment in K-12 education was starting and directing the Hispanic Studies Department for TUSD.
